The first episodes are available to watch now on <\/span>Nuestra.TV<\/span><\/a>, the free video-streaming service that aims to entertain, inform, and empower Hispanic audiences across cultural diversity, generations, languages, and devices.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cMariVi: The Master Navigator\u201d<\/b> follows U.S. born, <\/span>MariVi<\/b>, a bilingual\/bicultural primary school girl, and her Spanish-speaking immigrant parents, through life in the U.S. <\/span>MariVi<\/b>\u2019s stories address the distinct experiences of bicultural children, including the role of Sherpa that they often play, and their need to find balance and belonging in a world with a different language and culture than that of their parents.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The first episode, entitled \u201cSchool Crossing,\u201d accurately depicts <\/span>MariVi<\/b>\u2019s first-grade experience, a culture clash for many bicultural youth \u2013 from having her name changed by her teacher to misunderstanding her teacher\u2019s assignment<\/span>.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n Created by <\/span>Maria Twena<\/b>, a second-generation Latina, the \u201c<\/span>MariVi: The Master Navigator\u201d<\/b> series has been an ambitious journey \u2013 from infancy to premiere, whose time has come.\u00a0 \u201cU.S. born Hispanics comprise 67% of the market today, and yet their authentic life experiences aren\u2019t reflected in children\u2019s programming.
